Harry's Chocolate Shop

In 1919 Harry J. Marack opened Harry's Chocolate Shop near the Purdue campus. The Marack family operated the Chocolate Shop as the only soda fountain near Purdue University. Primarily serving fountain drinks and luncheonette items, after Prohibition, they acquired a license to serve beer and subsequently liquor.

The Maracks sold the business to the current owners, Herschel & Mary Cook, in 1977 who work hard to maintain the historic nature of the business so returning alums can visit Harry’s and feel like nothing has changed.
